Brazoria's Internet Connection
If you are a customer who is having problems with your service during the weekend, you can call and leave a message on our recorder. Customer support is provided for Internet problems only. Problems associated with the functionality of your computer will not be assisted and should be directed to the manufacturer of your system. There are also some very qualified computer repair services in the Brazosport area. We would be glad to recommend you to an appropriate repair service in your area.
DNS Setup and Settings for Windows 95/98
- Double click on "My Computer".
- Double click on "Dialup Networking" and then double click on "Make New Connection"
- Name the Connection I-Net and click "Next"
- Type in the number of your local Industry I-Net number. You can determine your local dial-in from the following information below:
Click "Finish" to make the I-Net Connection. - You should now see "Make New Connection" and "Brazoria I-Net". Right click on I-Net and left click on "Properties". Make sure that Use country code and area code is not checked. Click on "Server Type".
- On the "Server Type" window, make sure that only "Enable software compression and "TCP/IP should be checked, nothing else. Click on "TCP/IP Settings".
- In the TCP/IP window, put a dot next to the "Server Assigned IP address", and also put a dot in the "Server assigned name server addresses". Make sure "Use IP header compression" is unchecked. Click OK until you're back to My Computer.
- To connect to the Internet. Double click on "My Computer" then "Dialup Networking", then "Brazoria I-Net".
- Enter your user name and login password in the correct fields, typing all letters in lower-case. You may also check "Save Password" if you want the PC to remember your password.
- Click Connect. You should hear a dial tone, the modem is dialing and noise as it connects.
- After a few seconds of verifying your username and password, it should say you are connected and you should see the duration timer going.
- You are now successfully connected to the internet through Industry I-Net. Reduce the "Connected to" box down into your Windows 95 taskbar and open your favorite browser or Internet application and enjoy!

The Internet Connection wizard provides you with an easy way to get connected to the Internet. Whether you've never explored the Internet before or have spent many hours online, the Internet Connection wizard can help you set up a connection. For new Internet users, the Internet Connection wizard creates an Internet connection for you. If you already have an account with I-Net and want to create an Internet connection to your account, the Internet Connection wizard collects all the necessary information from you and then creates the connection. If you are not already running the wizard, you can start it as follows: Open Internet Options in Control Panel.

On the Connections tab, click Setup.

Follow the instructions on your screen. (Another way to open Control Panel is to click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
You can also open Internet Options from within the browser by clicking the Tools menu and then clicking Internet Options.) -
To set up a network connection by using Dial-Up Networking

Click Start, point to Settings, and then double-click Dial-Up Networking.

Click Make New Connection, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Type "I-Net" for the computer you are dialing. Choose "Next".

Type in the phone number that you wish to use (Refer to our Important Access Numbers page as to which number you should be dialing) and then click "Next".

If you are in an area code that is different than our dialup number then you will need to add the area code of our dialup number as part of the number itself. In other words, make it a 10 digit number instead of 7 digits. Do not add it in the area code section.

Use the "Right" mouse button to click Once on the I-Net Icon and choose "Properties". (use left mouse button from now on) Click on the "Networking" Tag.

Choose "PPP:Internet,WindowsNT Server,Win98" in Type of Dial-up Server.
Make sure only "Enable software compression" is checked in the Advanced option section. -
Make sure only "TCP/IP" is checked in the Allowed network protocol section.
Click on "TCP/IP" settings -
Make sure "Server Assigned IP address" is chosen

Choose "Server Assigned Name Server is chosen

Make sure the "Enable IP header compression" is not checked and "Use default gateway" are is checked marked ...then click OK...OK...and again...OK

Finally, double click the "I-Net" Icon and provide the username (your login ID) and password (remember login id and password are case-sensitive).

Click on "Connect" button. This should allow your modem to connect with our servers.

Go to your start bar and left click on the "Start" button. Go up to "Settings" and left click on "Control Panel".

Find and open the icon "Dial-Up and Network Connections".
Once in the 'Network and Dial-up Connections' folder, double-click on 'Make New Connection'. This process will start the Network Connection Wizard. If this is your first time setting up a connection, Windows 2000 will prompt your for your 'Location Information'. Please fill out this section accurately for your area code and dialing information. Click 'OK' when finished. -
Next, you will need to accept the new configuration information by clicking 'OK' in the 'Phone And Modem Options'.

Select 'Dial-up to the Internet (Connect to the Internet using my phone line [modem or ISDN])'. Click 'Next.

This will start the 'Internet Connection Wizard'. Select the last option 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN). Click 'Next

Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem' under 'Setting up your internet connection'.

The 'Internet Connection Wizard' will continue to setup your Industry I-Net dial-up connection. Step 1 of 3: Enter the phone number. Click 'Next to continue to step 2 of 3
Step 2 of 3: Enter your username and password. Your username and password must be entered exactly how they were given to you. Once you have completed this section, click 'Next. -
Step 3 of 3: Enter I-Net under 'Connection name Click 'Next to continue.

Your computer is now ready to connect to the Internet using your I-Net account. All setting should be configured properly by Windows 2000 automatically. If you would like to setup your mail account using Outlook Express select 'Yes'. Click 'Next to continue. If you clicked 'Yes' to set up Outlook Express, please continue with the configuration. If you select 'No', click 'Next.

Then click 'Finish'

Dial-up Connection pop-up menu will come up. You can click 'Connect' to dial-in to I-Net.

Now minimize the connection screen and proceed to use any Internet application that you want to use such as Eudora, Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.....Note: If you do not see Dial-Up Networking in Control Panel, then the component is not installed.

Start out by clicking the Start Menu and then clicking Control Panel.

Click on Network and Internet Connections.

Click Set up or change your Internet Connection.

Click on the Setup button, then click Next

The New Connection Wizard window will open

Select Connect to the Internet, and click Next
-
Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.

Select Connect using a dial-up modem, and click Next
-
Type in brazoriainet.com for the ISP name and click Next
-
Type in your local dial up number (with no dashes) and click Next
-
Type in your user name. Uncheck Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection. Click Next.

Check Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop. Click finish.

The connection should pop up now. Click Properties. If it does not, double click on the shortcut to brazoriainet.com and click Properties.

Click Networking, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

Click on Obtain an IP address automatically

Then click on Obtain DNS server address automatically, then click OK
Click OK again. -
Finished, Click Dial to connect now or cancel to connect later.
DSL customers need to make the following changes to your Operating Systems:
Go To: Start
Select - Control Panel
Select - Networking
Right Click on the Network Interface Icon for the DSL Connection
Select - Properties
Select - TCP/IP
Select - Properties
Select - Obtain IP Address Automatically
Select - Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically
Select - OK
Note: Some Operating Systems may require a Re-Start.
Dial-up customers need to make the following changes to your Operating Systems:
Right Click on The Dial-up Connection Icon
Select - Properties
Change the Phone Number to 799-1601
Select - OK
